Real User Feedback: Are Semi-Truck Drivers Satisfied with the Mark 2 Portable A/C and How They Use It?
Staying Cool on the Road: A New Solution for Semi-Truck Drivers
Staying cool without idling has always been a challenge for semi-truck drivers. While Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) offer one solution, they are expensive and require costly installation and annual maintenance.
Originally designed for camping, the Mark 2 portable A/C has found new uses among semi-truck drivers. Its off-grid capabilities make it an attractive alternative for staying cool during long hauls. However, many drivers are still unsure about its effectiveness. In this blog, we share feedback from truckers who have used the Mark 2, highlighting their experiences and insights.

Great Solution for My Semi By Wendy Thacker
I started researching an AC unit because I'm a truck driver and the eco-AC in my company truck only cools it to about 80 degrees if it's over 100 outside. I usually sleep during the day. After looking at many options, I came across Zero Breeze. It stood out because it was marketed towards "van living," which is similar to truck driving in terms of small space, low power consumption, and being fuel-conscious. The low wattage requirement (around 250W) made me think it would solve my AC issues, and it surpassed my expectations.
The biggest hurdle was the price, but I managed with Klarna. After some creative strategizing to fit it in my truck, especially with the exhaust hoses, I got it working. Yesterday, I turned on the Zero Breeze 30 minutes before sleeping. When I woke up at 5 pm, it was a lovely 65 degrees inside my truck, while it was 104 outside. Before, it would have been 85 inside, and I'd wake up sweaty and feeling terrible. This is a game-changer, and I've been recommending it to other truckers. 5 stars all the way.
Loved the Item By Shoaib Khan
My truck doesn’t have an APU, so keeping the truck on idle while sleeping was a hassle. The cost of diesel and the burden on the engine were too much. Since I bought Zero Breeze, I'm at peace. It cools enough to sleep, even in Texas's hot weather. I recommend it over expensive APUs.

Used it twice. It worked well when I started it at sundown. Tonight, it's 90 degrees, and I hooked up two batteries. We'll see how it does this way. It worked well in hot weather with the vent hose blowing down. It works best with the cab cooled off before going to sleep. The 12-volt charger is not working, so I'm limited on use now. Will update again.

Things You Should Know Before Purchasing the Mark 2 A/C
Does the ZERO BREEZE Mark 2 A/C require installation?
The Mark 2 A/C is installation-free, making it easy to get started. Follow these steps to enjoy its coolness in your semi-truck:
-
Ventilation: Find a window to vent out the rear hoses, ensuring hot air is expelled outside and does not affect the interior temperature. The Mark 2 comes with a window slider (foam with pre-cut holes for hoses) that fits in the window to minimize air leakage.
-
Drainage: Ensure the drainage pipe is correctly placed so water doesn't flow everywhere. The end of the drain pipe should not be placed in a sealed or pressurized container, nor should it be submerged in water, as this will prevent proper drainage and may cause leakage.
-
Power Connection: Connect the battery to the Mark 2 and turn it on.
How does the ZERO BREEZE Mark 2 A/C work in a semi/sleeper cab?
During the day, the Mark 2 works best as a spot cooler, making the area where you're sitting feel up to 20°F cooler. Place it on the passenger seat and direct the front outlet hose towards your body for instant coolness, or direct it to a thin blanket for sleep.
Considering the cabin heats up from the sun and poor air circulation can make you feel hotter, start the truck's A/C at least 30 minutes before turning on the Mark 2 if you plan to nap in the cab during the day. The Mark 2 cools the entire sleeper area more effectively when it's cooler outside, lowering the temperature to a comfortable level and making it easier to sleep. Overall, the Mark 2 is an excellent solution for staying cool in your truck, especially at night.
How long does the battery last?
The Mark 2 battery has 840Wh power and runs the A/C for 3-5 hours on a normal setting and up to 8 hours in sleep mode. We recommend semi-truck drivers purchase the A/C with two batteries, as some drivers sleep in their trucks for up to 10 hours. With the power extension dock, you won't need to change the battery midway while sleeping; it will automatically switch to the other battery when one is depleted.
The battery time varies because the A/C has an inverter compressor that adjusts its speed according to the detected environment temperature. When the environment gets hotter, the inverter compressor speeds up to lower the temperature. When it's cool enough, the compressor runs slower to save energy, contributing to the Mark 2 A/C's low power consumption.
The Mark 2 A/C is now on sale during our brand month. Don't miss out on the discount!
