How to Power the Mark 2 Air Conditioner: 4 Power Options for All Your Needs
The ZERO BREEZE Mark 2 portable air conditioner is a game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts, providing efficient cooling wherever you go. However, one of the most frequently asked questions is about the best way to power the Mark 2. Whether you’re off-grid camping, living in a van, or just need a reliable cooling solution, understanding the various power options is crucial. This guide will walk you through all the power options available for the Mark 2, ensuring you can keep cool no matter where you are.

Rechargeable Battery for Mark 2

To enhance portability and ease of use in off-grid environments, the ZERO BREEZE Mark 2 air conditioner comes with a separate battery. The Mark 2 battery has a capacity of 840Wh and consumes between 20W and 300W depending on the mode (Fan: 20W, Sleep: 120W, Cooling: 150W, Rocket: 240W). Power consumption may vary depending on the environment. This allows the Mark 2 to run for up to 8 hours in sleep mode under optimal conditions, making it ideal for use in relatively small sleeping areas at night.

Charging Options The Mark 2 battery can be charged in various ways, including via a car cigarette lighter, solar panels, and AC power supplies. Before heading out camping or during a rest stop at the campsite, charge the battery to full capacity to ensure you have power later without draining your car's battery.

AC Power Supply for Mark 2

Using an AC power supply is an efficient way to power your ZERO BREEZE Mark 2 air conditioner. Whether you're at home, at a campsite, using your van's AC output (inverter or shore power between 110-120V or 220-240V), or the AC output of a portable power station, you can keep your Mark 2 running smoothly. Simply use the 24V DC Power Adapter to connect your Mark 2 air conditioner or its battery to the AC power supply for continuous cooling.

Portable Power Stations for Mark 2

The Mark 2 is designed to be compatible with various power solutions, allowing you to adapt it to your existing power system instead of relying solely on our provided options. If you prefer not to use our add-on battery, you can use your own portable power station as long as it meets the voltage and power requirements. The Mark 2 can be powered through the AC output of portable power stations using the included power adapter. Alternatively, you can power the Mark 2 air conditioner through the DC output of your power station.

ElecHive 2500

The ElecHive 2500 features a dedicated 24V output port that can be connected to the Mark 2 using the Mark 2 AC to ElecHive connection cable. This setup can support the Mark 2 air conditioner for approximately 10.4 to 25 hours depending on the power consumption (2500Wh/240W-20W). This cooling combo is now on sale at a 25% discount. Don't miss out!

Power Stations from Other Brands

To accommodate various power systems, we offer cables specifically designed for popular power station brands like Bluetti, Goal Zero, and EcoFlow. These cables, used with a 12V to 24V converter, allow you to power the Mark 2 air conditioner. Ensure the power input is between 20-28V and the output exceeds 240W to support the air conditioner. Check our compatibility list below the cable description section to see if your power station is compatible with the Mark 2 air conditioner.

DIY/RV Battery System for Mark 2

A more advanced way to power the Mark 2 air conditioner is by using your own battery system. Most battery systems are either 12V or 24V, and should have a power output of over 300W. For a 12V system, you'll need a 12V to 24V converter to connect it to the Mark 2. Alternatively, you can connect two 12V batteries in series to meet the 24V input requirement, then use the DIY cord to connect the batteries to the Mark 2.

Hi@Cliff, thank you for your message. The Mark 2 AC has 2300 BTU and usually it takes approximately 6-7 hours to fully charge the battery. If you would like to use the Mark 2 AC while charging the battery, you’ll need the Power Extension Dock. This accessory is designed to charge the battery first, and then the battery will supply power to the Mark 2 AC. You can find the Power Extension Dock here: https://zerobreeze.com/collections/mark-2-accessories/products/power-extension-dock-for-mark
And we believe the Mark 2 is well worth its price, especially for users who place a high value on portability.

How long does it take to charge the battery? Can it run as the battery is being charged also? How many BTU’s does it put out? For the price I expect it shall be a better unit than the Wave2 . Is it?
